Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, has been around for quite some time. The underlying idea is great: let's do business in a way that is sustainable (environmental aspect) and makes sure people like to work for or with us (human aspect).

As with new concepts, they do not always settle in easily. CSR often was regarded as a necessary evil that has to be dealt with because the competitor does, or because society demands it. It was seen as a cost factor, being in the way of making a profit.

The reality is however, that if incorporated correctly, CSR is a win-win situation. It allows to offer services or products in an environmentally sustainable way. And at the same time it can generate new or additional revenue.
