Management
Project management went through stages of evolution over time, and still does. Companies can pick what fits their needs best. Or over time they vary the way they mange their projects. Often the trigger is a new style coming into fashion, as was the case with agile.

Some companies have a rigid project management system. That works well if the company culture is strong, and the product or service allows for that very project management system.

In many cases however, specifically in IT or IT related businesses, we find a variety, or rather a mix of approaches: Excel spreadsheets, check lists, waterfall, agile, you name it.
We understand that different teams have different needs, preferences, ways 'of doing things'. To change habits is tough. That is why we start with an assessment, and then suggest slight changes. Key is that people buy into those changes. From experience that is the case when they realize that a change, or new way of doing things, makes their lives easier - it is that simple.
